Forward Deployed
Builder.
One role. You build the whole thing, front to back, with AI doing the parts it's good at. Then you take it to the business it's for, watch them use it, and fix what breaks.
The work
- Build full stack: interface, API, data, deploy.
- Use AI properly, to ship faster and inside the product where it earns its place.
- Design it so an owner trusts it on first look.
- Sit with the customer, ship for them, and help sell the next one.
Who we want
- Two years or more building things real people used.
- Something live you can link to, that you built most of yourself.
- Taste. If everything you've made looks like a template, it isn't a fit.
- Happy talking to a shop owner, not only to a product manager.
The deal
- Unpaid until ZERO makes money. We make money together, and when it does, the people who built it get paid first.
- Full time, with deadlines that are real.
How it works
- ApplyThis form and your resume. Read within three working days.
- BuildIf it's a fit, a build by email. Three days, hard deadline.
Before you send it
Is two years a hard line?
Close to it. Two years of building things real people used, at a job, a startup, freelance or your own product. If you have less but have shipped more than most people with two, apply and let the work make the case.
Is it paid?
No. It's unpaid until ZERO makes money, and that is the only promise: we make money together, and when it does, the people who built it get paid first. If you need income right now this isn't the place today, and that's a completely fair call.
What's the assignment?
A build. Three days, hard deadline. It comes by email, and only after we've read your form and resume.
Do I have to be a designer too?
You need taste, not a design degree. The owners we build for decide in a second whether something looks trustworthy. If everything you've made looks like a default template, this role isn't a fit.
Why forward deployed?
Because the work doesn't stop at the repo. You talk to the businesses using what you built, watch where it breaks, fix it that week, and help get the next one on board. That's where the bit of marketing comes in.
What does ZERO build?
Three things right now: The Middle Market, CLOSURE and ISHQweds. The products page says where each one is.
